Angie Kalthoff is the program manager for Tufts’ Early Childhood Technology (ECT) graduate certificate program. Previously, she was a Technology Integrationist in the St.Cloud Area School District 742 in Minnesota. She has taught in St.Cloud since 2008. Her teaching career began as an English as a Second Language teacher in an elementary setting in 2008. Over the past eight years, she has worked with educators and students as a coach, co-teacher, curriculum designer, and professional development facilitator, in order to help them think about best approaches for integrating technology in the classroom. In addition, she currently teaches a course “Technology for Teaching and Learning” in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Minnesota.
Angie is an active advocate for the role of technology to support learning and her recent projects include:
Angie has experience teaching technology-rich workshops for educators in both formal and informal learning environments and she has initiated several projects in Minnesota. She is an avid presenter at conferences and likes to travel.
Technology Instruction practicum & Research Insight for Elementary Education
In this session, Angie will share research and classroom examples around technology integration and computer science education in elementary classrooms. In addition, participants will get hands-on time with coding platforms, unplugged resources, and elementary friendly robots to engage students in computational thinking. In addition, you will learn about the work research from the DevTech Research Group at Tufts and the Early Childhood Technology (ECT) Graduate Certificate Program.
